HIGH ART

Months after recreational weed was legalized in California, we were pitching the account of a museum in San Francisco. Our idea: pairing art with different types of weed to help people appreciate it. 3 years later, the pitch that we didn't win turned into a book written by my former boss, Robert Lambrechts, and designed by my former partner, Estefanio Holtz.

Sidney Magal is like the Brazilian Julio Iglessas. Estefanio and I had the amazing opportunity to write this weird music video to celebrate his long lasting successful career while taking a jab at music industry and the haters.

When Joaquin told me he was writing a song, I said: “What do you mean baby? You can’t even read yet.” Then he looked at me, dead serious and said: “And I’m going to direct the music video” At that point, I thought someone had spiked his milk. He Promised he would mess with his nap schedule and I just couldn’t say no. Probably my favorite project ever—only possible because of the amazing friends who helped bring the song to life (David Bessler, Amabile Barel, Luisa Toller, Victor Bustani) and the ones who made the video happen (Daniel Thomer, Estefanio Holtz).
